They don't even deserve 1 star. A girl called me to let me know I was approved on Feb.13 @ 8:46. The called lasted almost 6 minutes. During that call she said there were several kittens available, but they had to be fixed first on Friday the 16th. I asked if I could come in and pick one out before then. She said no. I asked when are they available? She said Saturday. We made an appointment for 9am. I asked how long it took and she said about 10-15 minutes. I said great because I had to work at 10. Then ended the call with I'll see you at 9 then. Saturday @ 9am we arrive: 1. They said they don't take appointments till noon. 2. They said they don't make calls to people before 9 and I showed my phone as proof the girl called at 8:46. 3. They said they have only one kitten and it isn't fixed yet. All the other kittens were adopted or held through the week. The same week that I was told "no, I couldn't do that". 4. We left without a kitten(s). Very very angry at the incompetence of the staff that were defending their rules but this person that called me apparently told me whatever she wanted.
The lenawee humane society stole my sons dog. Our 11 year old dog was stolen from our yard & somehow ended up at this pathetic place on the 20th of this month. Even though we were looking for her & were just made aware that she was at this disgusting place. Coco is not one to run off however as of lately she has stayed gone/ outside for a couple days at a time. ( we have quite alot of land) Anyway once we were made aware that she was at this horrible place we called to get her back only to be told we would have to apply to adopt her & pay the fee. We have no problem paying the fee but why should we have to jump through hoops to get part of our family back that we have had since our 9 year old was a baby.
Me and my roommates been trying to surrender three kittens that we found outside that we can’t afford and can’t take care of for MONTHS, since November. And they never answer the phone or when they do they just say they’ll call back but won’t. It also says that they’re open and the phones will be off. I truly don’t know what to do anymore and I feel horrible for these poor little cats. They deserve better and we can’t give that to them. And the one place we’re supposed to turn to in this town won’t help.
Wonderful staff who truly care about the animals they care for. Cole, Hannah, and Heather were especially amazing to work with. Not to mention the foster parents were incredible as well. Beyond happy with our new fur baby and the process to adopt him!
Horribly unprofessional and lairs. I've never been more shocked at the treatment of customers and false information given.
Great experience with Hannah answering every question and spending time with us getting our furever new addition!
We had our kitten spayed here a few months ago. The procedure was perfect! the staff is AWESOME and our kitty was playing right away and didn't seem to be in any pain at all. Highly recommend!!
This is a wonderful place for you to go. They are very helpful & take great care of the animals.
I've gotten two dogs from the humane society. I grew up with dogs and I just really missed having one. So on a whim, I pulled into the humane society. And walked out with a beautiful healthy dog. And he is the best!!! I would recommend the humane society in a minute. The first dog I got from them was a rescue dog which cost me a lot of money medical wise and I didn't know he was taken from an abusive home. But he came around and loved me unconditionally. I walked out with Max #2. That's right his name was the same as the first dog I got from the humane society. To me that was a sign to take Max#2.. we've gone everywhere together. Training to become a service dog. And boy! Max is a smart Heinz 57!!!😃. And I wouldn't change a thing!! I also received the name of a trainer from the humane society. This gentleman was so good and gave me so many ideas. He was the best and would recommend him to anyone. Just a good place for you to go in and get an animal and rescue them! You won't be sorry!
